Limit switch connection

The OPEN.ioting device is able to provide feedback on the open and closed status of the gate. This way you can check the position of the gate before starting the control operation.

This function can also be used to check the status of the gate (whether it is open or closed) and whether the garden or garage gate has closed without obstruction.

Inputs IN1 and IN2 are used to connect the limit switches.

  • The limit switch indicating the fully open state of the gate must be connected to input IN1.

  • The limit switch indicating the fully closed state of the gate must be connected to input IN2.

  • The device automatically detects the change of state of the connected limit switch and manages the limit stops accordingly.

So if you don't want to use a limit switch, don't connect inputs IN1 and IN2.

The device can manage one or two limit switches.

Switch S1

If the limit switches connected to inputs IN1 and IN2 are normally closed (NC), i.e. they provide an open dry contact when the gate is fully open and fully closed, set switch S1 to the upper "ON" position.

If the limit switches connected to inputs IN1 and IN2 are normally open (NO), i.e. they provide a closed dry contact when the gate is fully open or fully closed, set switch S1 to the lower "OFF" position.

The device automatically detects the limit switches IN1 and IN2! If the limit switches are connected, the mobile app will display the open, closed and intermediate states of the gate (if IN1 and IN2 are also connected), i.e. when the gate is opening or closing:
