The Customer’s Request
Our client wanted a smarter and more convenient way to control their existing electric swing gate. The primary requirement was remote operation via Apple Watch, while still keeping traditional remote controls available as a backup option.
In a household with several family members, using only physical remotes had become both expensive and impractical. Each person needed a dedicated remote, leading to high costs and frequent replacement due to loss or damage.
The goal was to allow all family members to access the gate easily using devices they already own—like Apple Watches and smartphones— without having to eliminate existing remotes.
Installation and Integration
To meet this need, we integrated the OPEN.ioting gate control module into the existing swing gate system. The module connected directly to the control board via relay output, with no need for significant modifications.
The home’s strong Wi-Fi coverage allowed for smooth and responsive gate control from anywhere—whether the user was at home or on the go. Smartwatch and mobile app operation were both seamless and instant.
The entire installation was quick and disruption-free. Thanks to the straightforward setup and stable network environment, the customer was able to begin using the new system immediately.
